2025 Winter/Spring Training Days for Members

Greater Pacific NW Retriever Club holds training days for club members at St. Louis Ponds near Gervais, Oregon. There will be a junior field set up with helpers and a senior/master field set up where handlers may choose how to run the set-up. Members are expected to volunteer in the field as there are no hired workers on training days.
Our planned schedule is
  • Saturday, January 18, 8:30 sign-in; 9:00 am training begins. This also functions as our annual meeting, with election of 2025 Officers and Board.
  • Saturday, February 1, 8:30 sign-in; 9:00 training begins.
  • CANCELLED Saturday, February 15, time TBD. CANCELLED (too much snow in the fields)
  • Saturday, March 8, 8:00 am. This is conducted as a picnic test at each level. 
  • ​April? TBD 
If other training opportunities come up, we will send out emails to members, or people can check our Facebook page. New members are welcome throughout the season.

2025 AKC Hunt Tests

Our 2025 AKC Hunt Test schedule includes some changes from years past: Our March test is a week later than usual, and we will be holding our summer Master-Only test at St. Louis Ponds this year. Labor Day is early this year, so our September test will be early, too. Keep checking Entry Express as these events are approved and posted.
  • March 29-30 Junior, Senior, Master stakes, St. Louis Ponds, Gervais OR
  • July 19-20 Master-only stake (pending AKC), St. Louis Ponds, Gervais OR
  • September 6-7 Junior, Senior, Master stakes, St. Louis Ponds, Gervais OR
St. Louis Fish Ponds County Park, Marion County
This is a public Marion County park open for dog training year-round in the marked area (south and west of the parking lot). The gates are now open all year. New this year: Pond D (the long channel east of the parking lot) has been added to the dog training grounds. Share this one with the fishermen.
